2017 "From Vienna to Beijing to Hollywood" Concert

From Vienna to Beijing to Hollywood launched Angel Wang’s Musical Journey, bringing together classical traditions, Chinese musical heritage, and iconic film music in a vibrant cross-cultural concert experience.

 

Led by violinist and Artistic Director Angel Wang, the program travelled from the elegance of European classical music to the lyrical beauty of China and the cinematic world of Hollywood. Highlights included Beethoven’s Spring Sonata, the beloved Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, and selections from classic Hollywood films.

 

The concert also featured renowned erhu virtuoso George Gao (Gao Shaoqing), whose electrifying performance brought the evening to a thrilling climax and showcased the expressive power of traditional Chinese instruments alongside a Western ensemble.

Created through a year of artistic planning and collaboration, From Vienna to Beijing to Hollywood established the foundation for Angel Wang’s continuing concert series and her artistic vision of connecting East and West through music while bringing diverse traditions together on one stage.
